Shine Event
SHINE! Begins April 10th!
St. Peter is participating in the Northern Illinois District's SHINE! initiative — a week where congregations all across the NID are challenged to get out and shine the light of Jesus in their neighborhoods. And our church and school have some incredible opportunities lined up.
Our classrooms are leading the charge. From painting rocks with Christian messages and distributing them in our neighborhood, to handing out Bible verse bookmarks at the Schaumburg Library, to delivering snack bags to our local police officers — our students are doing the work, and they need you alongside them. Several classrooms are looking for parent and congregation volunteers to walk with them, drive for them, and cheer them on.
There's a sign-up table in the narthex this weekend. Stop by, grab some info, and sign up for any events that fit your schedule. Opportunities are available April 13–17, with something happening almost every day that week.

Our biggest SHINE event of the season is a Phil's Friends Event, right here in the Fellowship Hall from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Phil's Friends is a ministry that sends handwritten encouragement cards and gift boxes to people battling cancer — reminding them they are not forgotten, not alone, and deeply loved by God.
You can come before worship, after worship, or both. No artistic ability required — just a willing heart and a few minutes of your time. We'll also be collecting donated items for Phil's Friends between now and April 26th — For more details check out the SHINE table in the narthex.
