  • LERT – Disaster Relief Training

    St. Peter has a group of men and women volunteering their time to assist as local and domestic emergencies occur.  They are a disaster response team.   For more information about joining our team please contact Pastor Greg at 847.885.3350. 

    LCC will be hosting Basic and Advanced classes for all interested.  The LCC home office address is 3020 N Milwaukee Ave, Northbrook, IL, directly across the street from the Preiser Animal Hospital and Shelter.  Here is what is offered this Fall:

    • Saturday, November 12 - LERT Basic Training  REGISTER HERE
    • Saturday, November 12 - Advanced Chainsaw Certification Training

    LERT has a basic training course opportunity coming up this month. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a LERT volunteer, this is a great time to join. The course is Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Lutheran Church Charities, 3020 Milwaukee Ave, Northbrook, IL 60062.  Registration and brunch will start 30 minutes prior to class (9 am) followed by the four hour course (9:30 am - 1:30 pm). We request everyone to register online, the fee can be paid online with a credit card at time of registration, or at the event when you check-in by cash, check or credit card. Go to and click the LERT Training button.

    If you are a credentialed LERT Volunteer, bring your LERT ID card and your LERT Manual with you.  Your registration fee is only $5; to cover the cost of food. Participation in the class will serve as a refresher and a yearly renewal of your LERT ID card.

    On Saturday, November 12th 2016 the McHenry County LERT Team is hosting a LERT Advanced: Chainsaw Certification Training with Ed Boerman, Instructor.  Location is McHenry Moose Lodge, 3535 N Richmond Rd in Johnsburg IL. Check in and registration starts at 8:00 AM. Registration Fee: $12.00 to cover the cost for trainer, and food being served. To register contact Bruce Preston or Cell# 815-382-4751.
