Meet our Haitian Friends:
Pastor Paul Touloute
Pastor Touloute is president of the Southern District of the ELCH (Evangelican Lutheran Church of Haiti). He is also the Director at the American University of the Carribean in Les Cayes, Haiti. He moved his family of wife, Jeanne, and three sons, Max, Kemlar and Luvio to Ft. Wayne in 1998. Pastor Touloute completed 6 years of study for his doctorate at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The family returned to Haiti in 2005 where he immediately assumed the role of pastor and president of the Southern District previously held by his best friend, Pastor Israel Izidor, who died suddenly. He spends is time teaching both at the university as well as with the lay pastors of his district.
Jeanne is the wife of Pastor Touloute and the mother of 3 boys, Max, Kemlar and Luvio. Jeanne also has raised her sister's children as well as currently raising her god daughter, Arlene, as well as a young girl from Sejourne, Vivian. Jeanne works with many of the Lutheran churches to assist in training the women of these churches. She frequently travels to villages to help teach women how to sew, care for their medical needs and lead Bible studies. She encourages the pastor's wives to help lead in their communities. She is an awesome hostess and great cook.
